Careers at Quanfluence
Build what hasn't been built yet.
The most exciting careers aren't found on established paths. They're built by the people who make new ones.
At Quanfluence you'll work alongside scientists, engineers and builders on some of the hardest problems in quantum computing, from photonic hardware through to the control systems and software that turn it into a working platform.
If you want your work to still matter decades from now, and not just at the end of the next quarter, we'd like to meet you.

Technical Lead, Optoelectronic Products & Engineering
We need a technical lead to own the design and characterization of the electronic and optoelectronic hardware at the core of our photonics systems. You'll lead end-to-end product architecture, from low-noise, high-speed circuit design through testing protocols for detector metrics like dark count rate, photon detection efficiency and timing jitter, while mentoring a cross-functional team of optical, electrical and mechanical engineers. You'll also be the technical escalation point for customers and field support, working with technical sales to troubleshoot complex integrations.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics or a related discipline
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in optoelectronics R&D and product development, taking hardware from concept to market
- Strong proficiency in low-noise analog circuit design, high-frequency signal processing and mixed-signal PCB design/layout
- Experience developing embedded software for RISC-V, x86 or ARM, including communication over SPI, I2C or UART
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or engineering teams
Useful, not essential
- Hands-on experience with thermo-electric coolers (TECs), PID control loops and temperature stabilization of optical components
- Familiarity with FPGA-based data acquisition, time-to-digital converters (TDCs) or embedded microcontrollers for detector readout
- Experience operating in environments guided by ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
Why Quanfluence
Who we're looking for
We're not looking for the perfect candidate, because we don't think one exists. We look for an appetite for problems nobody has a method for yet, and for how fast you close the gap between what you know today and what the work needs. Prototypes, teardowns, simulations, side projects and papers tell us more than where you studied, and what you've chased since matters more than what you were taught. Nobody here is waiting to hand you a task list, so show us something you built, solved or figured out.
If you've ever been called obsessive, stubborn in a good way, or the person who always asks why, there's a good chance you'll enjoy working here.
How we hire
Every application starts with a questionnaire
A resume doesn't tell us enough. The questionnaire takes 30 to 45 minutes and gives every applicant the same chance to show how they think, whether you're ten years into a career or a month out of university. We only accept submissions through the form, so please don't email us your resume.
Submit the form below with your details and CV, and pick the role you're applying for.
You'll get the questionnaire link by email. Set aside 30 to 45 minutes and answer it in one sitting.
Every questionnaire is read the same way, in the same place, whoever you are and however you found us.
If it's a fit on both sides, we'll reach out to talk specifics. If it isn't, we'll let you know rather than leave you wondering.
Don't see a role that fits?
If you think you could contribute something we haven't thought to advertise, tell us what, and show us why you think so.
